This program is designed to train and develop Aerial Silks students to become instructors of Intro to Aerial Silks and Aerial Silks Beginners 1.
The curriculum includes Basic Anatomy, Conditioning and Flexibility for Aerialists, Equipment and Rigging, Body Movement Analysis, Apparatus Analysis, Warm Up and Cool Down Pointers, Class Structure and Sequencing, Spotting, and more!
This 40-hour program will discuss the Intro to Aerial Silks and Aerial Silks Beginners 1 curriculum and tricks, and equip participants with the practice and experience to learn how to teach and introduce aerial life to new enthusiasts.

Pre-requisites:
A student must be an Aerial Silks Intermediate 1 student at Polecats Manila, or the equivalent in another studio, to be able to join the program.
Trick Pre-Requisites: Climbs to the top of the Aerial Silks (Russian, Regular); Invert from the floor; Double footlock split from eggbeater; Double footlocks created separately; X-back; Salty Egg Drop from an Egg Knot; Pike tuck to pencil; Existing splits practice.
A student must have First Aid Training certification to take part in the program. [This can be accomplished in one day, prior to the start of the program.]
Details:
All sessions start and end on time. We are always prompt, so be sure you arrive mentally, emotionally and physically prepared to learn!
Please bring food and drinks for yourself for the whole day. Select vendors near the studio will be open during the time we conduct class in case you’d like to purchase from them. You may also bring a refillable water bottle as there is a dispenser at the studio for everyone to use.
Please wear comfortable attire and be ready to get on the silks at any time in the session, in case we need to re-enact a student-teacher scenario.
A student is not allowed to miss or be late during a session, or else he/she will forfeit the certificate. The certification proves that one has learned, trained and finished a certain number of hours for the program, so one will not be able to claim a certificate should he/she miss or be late to a session.

About the Instructors
The Aerial Silks Instructor Qualification Program was written and will be conducted by Kayleen Ortiz and Victoria Velasco. They are current pole and aerial teachers at Polecats Manila. Together, they cultivate a growing community to enthusiastic aerialists, who thrive under the guidance of Polecats Manila teachers!
About Kayleen Ortiz
Movement Artist, International Pole Champion, and Multi Apparatus Creative.
Kayleen is a founding member of Polecats Manila, and one of the most influential voices in the Philippine fitness and aerial industry. She has won several international pole championships, and has served as a judge in multiple international pole and aerial competitions as well. She is currently the Head Instructor and Competition Program Director of Polecats Manila, and has successfully coached award-winning aerial athletes of all levels. Effectively training the next generation of international aerial champions in the Philippines.
Kayleen co-created and is also the current Training Head of the Polecats IQP learning system. Since its launch in 2014, this program has sucessfully trained over 100 teachers in multiple studios across the world.
Kayleen is a lover of movement and believes that being a teacher is her greatest calling in life.
About Victoria Velasco
Teacher Vicky has been in the pole and aerial world for almost fourteen years, and was one of Polecats Manila’s first students, before becoming a company member in 2014. "I had no athletic background when I started, so I really believe that pole and aerial can be for every body,” she says.
She has dabbled in much of the aerial and dance world - Floorwork, Femme, Aerial Hoop, Aerial Hammock, Spinny Pole, while focusing on teaching Pole, Mat Flexibility, Heels Technique, and Aerial Silks. She is also one of the trainers for the Polecats Manila Pole Instructor Qualification Program, and teaches the Pole Intermediate and Aerial Silks classes at the studio. She is the main Aerial Silks instructor of Polecats Manila.
She aims to empower everybody who comes to her class, by helping them grow more comfortable in movement and mobility, while having a lot of fun along the way. Her cheerful demeanor, and sunny aura, paired with her eye for technique and movement foundations, is what makes her classes unique. She especially loves teaching beginner levels and going through the foundations, to aim to help students achieve longevity and fulfillment in their aerial life!
